Some Interesting Work I’ve Done

Not all assignments can be riveting, but once in a while, I translate texts that go beyond the usual. They vary widely in subject matter, but they are always interesting to work on.

I reviewed a French translation of The Mental Game of Trading, by Jared Tendler. The work gave me insights into the high-stakes world of day trading and translation from a French speaker’s viewpoint.

Hundreds of letters passed between the Grey Nuns of Montreal in the late 1800s. They recounted their struggles with the US government, their management of the school for Indigenous children, their minor squabbles amongst themselves. I was privileged to step into their world by translating some of these letters.
